Lake Pointe Orthopaedics is proud to welcome Dr. Sunny Parekh, DO, to our growing team of orthopedic specialists. Dr. Parekh will see patients at our Rockwall, Greenville, and Richardson locations, bringing with him extensive training in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Dr. Parekh earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018, graduating with honors as a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of South Florida in collaboration with the Florida Orthopedic Institute.
During his fellowship, Dr. Parekh worked alongside collegiate athletes at the University of South Florida and St. Leo University, serving as part of the team orthopedic surgical staff. This hands-on experience gave him advanced insight into managing athletic injuries and delivering care that helps athletes return to peak performance.
His clinical interests include:
- Tendon, muscle, and ligament injuries
- Arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgeries
- Repair and reconstruction procedures
- Cartilage restoration
- Fracture care
- Regenerative medicine treatments
Dr. Parekh is passionate about working with athletes of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a weekend warrior, high school athlete, or a college competitor, Dr. Parekh offers the expertise and personalized care needed to help you heal and get back in the game.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Parekh enjoys spending time with his wife. Together, they love playing tennis, traveling, and exploring new places.
