Dr. Joel Zarling, MD
Dr. Joel Zarling sees patients in Rockwall and Richardson, TX. He completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, a nationally recognized program at one of the country’s leading orthopedic institutions, and his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Surgery Internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He received his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics at George Washington University in Washington, DC. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas and has been Board Certified in Orthopaedics since 2018.
Dr. Zarling specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, helping patients recover from injuries and get back to the activities they love. He is a Gold Humanism Honor Society Member, a distinction recognizing physicians who demonstrate outstanding compassion and patient-centered care. Additional honors include the Lenox Hill Annual Orthopaedic Research Symposium Best Fellow’s Presentation and the GWU Dean Rheuland Fellowship.
Dr. Zarling is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Texas Medical Association (TMA).
