Repetitive strain can often cause chronic wrist pain. There are many factors that can contribute to wrist pain, many of which including posture and repetition, can be controlled.
The following suggestions can reduce your chances of injury and wrist stress, and possibly prevent carpal tunnel:
1. If you use a keyboard, whether at work or at home, use a wrist pad or lift.
2. Rest your hands & wrists periodically. If you have been working for a long period of time, take a break and stretch.
3. When using tools, use the proper technique and grip.
4. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eat right and exercise.
